The 5 food trends of 2026
Our eating habits are constantly evolving over the years and decades. We also see food trends emerge, which fuel the development of new products, linked to both local and global market trends. The food trends for 2026 revolve around five key ideas. Interestingly, camelina fits within these five emerging trends.

1. The featured nutrient
After years of protein dominance, it's now fiber's turn. Fiber promotes a feeling of fullness, helps reduce obesity, supports gut health, and improves cardiovascular health. With its omega-3 fatty acids in the oil, its protein content, and its 28% fiber content in camelina seeds, camelina will once again be in the spotlight this year!
2. The food motive
The goal here is to nourish ourselves to improve a specific need: whether it's cognitive health, mood, digestion, sleep, or stress management. We eat to improve our health, much like the Japanese people who consume a diet rich in nutrients to maintain optimal health, always with great taste and enjoyment! Camelina fits perfectly into this dietary approach: we nourish ourselves with omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and fiber to improve our health, all while enjoying delicious food!
3. The culinary experience
Consumers will seek meaningful meals that evoke traditional skills or dishes discovered through travel and social media. We love to discover and to love to eat. This is what we offer with camelina: the pleasure of discovering new flavors while rediscovering an ancestral food that disappeared 300 years ago. Travel back in time with ancestral foods, thanks to camelina.
4. Culinary identity
We like to focus on hyper-local and artisanal products. We're returning to classic recipes and traditional dishes. People no longer eat just to nourish themselves, but to reconnect with a story, a region, or a culture.

5. Eat real food
Eating real food is a search for authenticity, for simple, unprocessed or unrefined foods.
I must admit, reading about these trends was a real pleasure! First, we see that camelina addresses each of these trends, so it's safe to say that camelina is definitely on trend. Also, with the aim of properly nourishing the population, we observe that returning to real food and enjoying eating while seeking out the right nutrients makes so much sense. Because eating well is a way to take control of our health and change our future. It's the power we have over our well-being, linked to taking care of ourselves, moving and exercising, breathing, and meditating.
I hope you take some time to take care of yourself!
