A revolution in the field!

At Signé Caméline, we see camelina cultivation as a real revolution in our fields with our summer and winter cultivation.

Towards the end of autumn, we prepare to sow winter camelina. This means that the seeds will germinate in the fields, then fall dormant with the frost. They " will sleep » all winter to wake up as soon as spring arrives.

This revolutionary technique improves biodiversity and prepares the soil for the following season, while integrating perfectly into sustainable agriculture. Indeed, since the plants have already germinated and resume growth in the spring, this significantly reduces the space left for weeds. This naturally leaves room for camelina cultivation without the use of pesticides.

🎙️ Simon Durivage-Guertin, our Director of Agricultural Production, embodies this vision: thinking and growing differently, with an eye toward innovation, regeneration, and the future with winter wheat.

It is exactly this spirit that guides our decisions: to make camelina a driver of positive development for local agriculture.

🌿 A beautiful article published in La Presse pays tribute to this inspiring approach:

Happy reading, and a great start to the new school year to all of you,
